Seasons greetings yogis and yoginis! The Karmaspace yoga classes have now stopped for the holiday season and the new year classes are now available via the Yoga classes page.. link here. It is advisable to book in advance, especially as classes are becoming more popular.
I am looking forward to taking a well earned rest and working with the natural slower pulse and rhythm of the Winter, as I get to indulge more in my personal practice. In a personal yoga practice, a true and deeper understanding can sometimes be reached which is why it is very much encouraged if you wish to deepen your journey into yoga. In your own quietness you can observe the subtleties of the practice on the mind and body without being prompted by a teachers voice. If you would like to follow a sequence have a look in the back of many of the Iyengar books such as Light on Yoga, where you can find sequences, or else have a look on my sequences page where you can download set sequences.

Last week saw the worldwide celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the birth of our dear teacher/Guruji BKS Iyengar. In Balawada Stadium India, thousands of students and teachers travelled from all parts of the world to be part of a 10 day celebration of including teachings of both physical asanas, and philosophical teachings led by his daughter Geeta, son Prashant and granddaughter Abhijata who are all renowned yoga teachers in their own right. Other Iyengar studios around the world held special commemorative classes and celebrations.
BKS Iyengar is an individual whose achievements have left a positive mark across the entire world. In the Iyengar community we are full of gratitude for an extraordinary human being who has taught the world so much. |
Hello I'm AdrienneI help individuals connect to their inner wisdom and fully return to their bodies through Iyengar yoga, mindfulness, meditation, pain management, and holistic body work and energetic therapies. With 11 years of Yoga teaching experience, including 4-6 classes per week and weekly private sessions, along with 25 years of dedicated practice in yoga, breath work, and mindfulness, I bring extensive, embodied knowledge to my work. My expertise covers various movement modalities, massage therapies, and addressing both medical and therapeutic needs. I’ve also taught yoga for the Iyengar Long Covid medical study in collaboration with St. John’s University.
