![]() I am very honoured to be assisting senior teacher Larissa McGoldrick at this very important Iyengar Remedial Therapy class starting this Thursday. This class is highly personalised and can have a profound impact on students suffering from injuries and diseases. It can be immensely uplifting and even curative in some cases. The approach to each person is highly personalised and varies from week to week depending on the condition. Decades of teaching experience and training are needed to work in this area (in the Iyengar discipline) and as such there are limited teachers who are actually qualified and insured to do this work. So this class is a very rare find in the Herfordshire area. Please come along and support this class, we would like to keep it going on a regular basis and therefore we just need to spread the word. The class size is limited to 8 so that we can concentrate fully on the attendees. Please share with anyone who you feel may benefit. Bookings taken directly via The Secret Space studio. Tel: 01992 503141 . http://www.thesecretspace.org.uk These are just some of the . conditions that can be worked with: Knee problems - inc knee prosthesis Hip problems - inc replacements Shoulder problems Backache Repetitive strain injury Migraine Insomnia Scoliosis Sciatica Hormonal imbalances Fertility issues Menopause Parkinsons Multiple Sclerosis M.E. Sports Injury

This class can be booked at www.secretspace.org.uk ![]() In late December the world lost another great yoga teacher, Geeta Iyengar, an acclaimed yoga teacher, yogi, author and Ayurvedic doctor. Although ill in health of recent years, she had been teaching classes all week long at her fathers commerative celebrations in India just days before she died. It was very much a swan song of an ending. Although I never had the good fortune to be taught by her, my teachers were taught by her directly in the past and this year, and I have been practising and conveying her teachings in classes and in my personal practice. She had written many books during her lifetime and her most renowned book 'Yoga a Gem for Women' was a seminal book for women in yoga. It was the first of its kind to highlight the importance of Yoga in a woman's life cycle and it gave a variety of asanas with their physical and curative values. The book has been instrumental in the teaching curriculum for Iyengar teacher assessments and it gives simple steps for advancing from a purely physical plane to a higher level of consciousness. She was an inspiration to us all. |
