... All you need to do is roll out your mat, start with Downward dog pose (Adho mukha svanasana) ... and roll on from there. Sometimes you need a structured sequence, but sometimes you just have to get started! The Iyengar teacher John Shumaker says that Adho mukha svanasana is his desert island pose as it is a standing pose, a backbend, and an inversion - in fact the only thing it doesn't do is twist, so this really is a great pose to start with. (If you want to practice this pose along with John Shumaker click here) Yoga is mindfulness and meditation in action. Only practice will lead us to see a pose, and in exploring the pose we deepen our understanding of ourselves. See you tomorrow on the mat at 10am yogis and yoginis :)
Just a quick reminder that from Wednesday 1st June - Tuesday 7th June (inclusive) there will be no yoga classes (Standon, Bishops Stortford Cricket Club and at Nuffield and The Secret Space).
I will be back on the mat teaching from Wednesday 8th June. Namaste :) My 'Connect with the Body and Calm the Mind' yoga workshop In June is now SOLD OUT. Much gratitude for to all you yogis who have booked on to it! I can't wait to see you all there.
If you were thinking about attending, but didn't quite get round to booking, stay tuned as I will be scheduling another one in the near future. |
