In class we have be working with this searing UK heat (quite hard to believe those words go together!) with Rope Sirsasana from the Yoga Kurunta series of asanas in the Iyengar practice. This version of Sirsasana (headstand) on the ropes helps create a passive yogic mind, balances the hormones, corrects spinal misalignments with the help of the traction from the ropes, and improves sleep by creating a state of equilibrium in the body and mind. Even if you have a neck problem, headstand is still open to you with an Iyengar practice.
